Whale watching in Tofino

Whale watching in Tofino and Ucluelet is a popular wildlife adventure. Visitors have the opportunity to see these magnificent mammals in their natural marine habitat as as they journey northward during their yearly migration.

Most often viewed are the Pacific Gray Whales, the migration starts to show up along west coast of Vancouver Island in early February. Some of these stay from April through November, feeding in Clayoquot Sound and Barkley Sound feeding off the bottom life around the kelp beds, before heading south again for the winter.
